Day 7 - Osaka

Ok we decided to stop behaving like alcoholics on holiday and start doing more touristy things and do some sight-seeing. Although we got up at late(again) we did get to take in a major Osaka attraction-Oska castle. But first lunch. With a stop at a pet shop. Same story here as in Singapore. Underage pets that should still be suckling being put up for sale. Yes the younger they are, the more cute they look, thus being suceptible to impulse buyers.

Oishi!

Deep fried paradise...

More bento. Katsu for Neil, fish for moi.

Park at the foot of the hill that leads up to the castle

The moat that surrounds the castle

The old castle itself(ironically rebuilt numerous times after a few fires), filled with interactive displays, video shows and a good view of Osaka from the top.

We saw these guys on these jumpy thingys...

tres cool....

another funny name

We did some bar hopping and had dinner in a place not famillar to us(it wasn't Shinsaibasi where we stayed) but we were not completely lost.

Excellent appertiser was deep fried breaded camembert with raspberry sauce.

Hamburger steak with mata lembu on top

Neil had pasta topped with some fish roe

Conversation with some of the bar staff over the geographic location of some part of Japan lead to the map of Japan being made out of things lying around the bar counter.

Its disconcerting to see the sun up by the time you get back...its just gonna screw up the next days activities
