makan@mine

My parents hosted dinner for some relatives after my gran's funeral. Mum was slaving in the kitchen since the early afternoon. She did prawn curry, some strange new chicken curry, fried fish, chicken wings(that i seasoned).Really good meal, despite the monumental effort

Everyone tried out the 'drumsticks' that were in the prawn curry. No not the chicken variety nor musical noise making thingy but the vegetable. Very ex-aah-tic!

Then everyone did the best thing to do after a meal

Massage@Blk 95

For some reason I had a pretty painful stiff neck and decide on a traditional Chinese massage place to rectify it. It was highly recommended by some of my colleagues from the office, especially Huifen and Des Foo despite the horror stories i hear about how painful it could be. I headed out during my dinner break and got the 1 hour combo for $35(40 min reflexology and 20 min back and shoulder).

Ah Siong doing his magic

The foot massage didn't hurt as those as I have had before but the back and shoulder one tickled the shit out of me. He ended the session by smearing a generous amount of Tiger Balm on my neck and shoulder and told me to rub from the neck down across to the chest every once in a while. I ached qite a bit the next day but was felt fine the day after that.

Mee Rebus@ttsh

Here is something that I would not care to eat again. Guess 7-11 sells this to unsuspecting ppl who would not buy it again. The the egg exploded in the microwave and the gray tasted nutty like smooth gado-gado gravy. Kinda looks like the curry sauce that u get with McNuggets. Had it while I was caring for my grandma when she was in hospital

Military ARSEanal

Think this was what was left of a military career fair in Suntec just outside Carrefour. Notice how the mannequin in the background is being stripped of its dignity.... think this co relates how I was stripped of my pride for 2 and a half years during my youth, before being screwed by the governmernt....

GreasyTastyYummy

Ate at the infamous Fish&Co for the first time last Sunday. Have been hearing too much about it to resist, even despite my strict gourmet diet. Almost everything was fried (delish!) Four of us ordered a platter(for 2) and a fish and chips, which was pretty good and that filled us up very nicely, Rehan, being the mastermind behind the suggestion to eat there, new his way around the menu and even politely declined to have a slice of a baguette so as to maximize space in his belly for the main course. All I can say is that the man has such great foresight.....

No pix were taken of the before pix when the food arrived, only after pix were available... we were all just too hungry lah. The fish and chips was one of the best I have ever had while the the platter reminded me of paella that was not soggy(just the way i like it, though i think its ment to be moist). It was made up with a base of rice and topped with panfried fish, shrimp, mussels, squid and french fries!!!!

All that was left of the combo platter

The bill came up to about 18 bucks per person, not a big price to pay for clogging your arteries...

Suntek Convention Centre

These people need help with grammar-are we into human trafficking now? So much so that we have to have a sale to attract more Singaporeans?

Braddell Fish and Chips

There is a small fish and chips joint near the office that does pretty decent fish and chips and a few other things like curry(very british!), pasta and roast chicken. The weird thing about this establishment is that they also serve the fish on rice and serve it with a curry sauce! What would the queen say to this stupefying of an already doomed cusine?

Bland, bland and bland....

The first time i ate there, i was just blinded by the hype(as all Singaporeans like to eat anything in vogue or new, they were featured in the papers anyway), i had the fish and chips with curry sauce.... and to my horror, the curry tasted raw, had a sticky consistency and was slightly sweet! Although the fish was light crisp and fluffy on the inside, i just could not fathom the concept of eating it with chilli sauce, rice and a ghastly curry sauce....
But before you judge me, i do occasionaly indulge in Japanese curry rice with some shit(usually chicken) on the top.

blondie concert

As part of Shan's birthday present(the other part of the present was a 2 dollar note I gave her to stuff down a trannie's cleavage at crazy horse and 2 tequila shots at top ten) I decided to take her to the blondie concert. The concert started with zircon government lounge was one of the opening acts, which I almost completely under estimated all this time. Probably because I never really liked Suzanne walker's guts... Miss walker wore a highly unflattering nude coloured dress while the punk munk hunk wore a corset and some other shit

then blondie came on stage an hour
later

there was also a band member with striped red tights

shan and me

it was a pretty good concert despite the fact that we probably were familiar with only half of their repertoire. I even relived my days of being a groupie and took pictures of Deborah Harry as she was being whisked away in her getaway van.
